Resources Available
Community College offers several programs to support students. For example, several community colleges offer two years of free tuition for eligible first-time, full-time students. Additionally, many offer an Honors Program which provides enriched classes, priority registration, and specialized counseling for high-achieving students. The TAP Planner helps students track coursework and meet UC Transfer Admission Guarantee requirements. Additionally, online scholarship databases like Fastweb, Scholarships.com, and Cappex help students find financial aid opportunities.
Promise Program
This program provides two years of free tuition (enrollment fees) for eligible first-time, full-time students, regardless of family income.
Requirement: Minimum 2.0 GPA.
Benefits: Covers enrollment fees, easing the financial burden and enabling students to focus on their studies.
Application Process: Students must complete the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application and meet with a community college counselor to develop an education plan.
Support Services: Includes academic counseling, tutoring, and workshops to help students succeed.
Honors Program
Requirements:
Must maintain a 3.25 GPA.
For UCLA TAP consideration: Must attain a 3.5 UC-transferable GPA.
For UC Irvine Honors-to-Honors: Must attain a 3.7 UC-transferable GPA.
Must take 5 total honors courses.
Recommended to complete all honors courses a semester early for portfolio completion.
Portfolio Requirement:
Honors programs may require students to submit an honors portfolio at the end of their semester in order to receive honors certification at the end of the year.

Priority admission review at many UCs, including UCLA and UCI.
Designated honors counselors and scholarships.
TAP Planner
An online tool to help prospective UC transfer students track and plan their coursework.
Allows students to track their progress toward UC admission requirements.
Can assist students seeking a Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG).
UC TAG is an agreement that guarantees admission to a UC in a specific major from any California community college.
Requirements:
Select a campus and check TAG requirements.
Complete the TAG application before the deadline.
Complete all GPA and required coursework for your UC.
Submit your UC application.
